H-2B VISA CAP for 2008 GONE!

CIS announced that they have received sufficient number of petitions for H-2B Temporary Workers for FY 2008 as of January 2, 2008. Compounded by Congress’ inability to re-enact the H-2R Returning H-2B worker legislation allowing previously employed H-2B workers to return to the US as non-CAP employees, US employers cannot sponsor H-2B temporary non-agricultural workers until October 1, 2008. Note however, that H-2B employees that are physically present in the US may extend or amend their status with their current employer or with a new H-2B employer.
