John Tocci manages the firm’s employment counseling and litigation practice. His practice area encompasses a broad spectrum of employment matters.

John provides counsel with regard to employee hiring, retention, discipline and discharge, government audits and employer self-audits and employer compliance with state and federal employment laws and regulations. His practice also includes preparing and negotiating employment contracts, non-competition agreements and personnel policies. John represents businesses involved in employment litigation and commercial contract litigation in state and federal court, including appeals courts, and in arbitration.

John served as the Co-Chair of the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Employee Rights and Responsibilities Practice Group. John also served as the Management Chair of the MBA's Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination Parental Leave Guidelines Subcommittee and served on the MBA’s Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination Disability Discrimination Guidelines Subcommittee.

Before joining Tocci, Goss & Lee, John was a Senior Associate with Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky & Popeo. Prior to entering private practice, John served as Chief Law Clerk with the Massachusetts Superior Court, supervising the clerkship program and working closely with the Chief Justice to develop and implement administrative policies.

He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. He earned his B.A. from Boston University (1985), and was awarded his J.D., magna cum laude, from The American University, Washington College of Law (1992).
